**Name:** Robert Laslett
**Dates**: 1923-2002
**Biographical summary:** Robert Laslett was a teacher (1951-1954) at Swalcliffe School under Richard Balbernie and was a Trustee of the Planned Environment Therapy Trust, becoming the fourth member of the board in 1971. He was a colleague and close friend of the residential childcare pioneer, David Wills. In 1970 Laslett helped to establish the Social Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties Association's (SEBDA) annual lecture, the David Wills Lecture, which was later renamed the Wills Laslett Lecture.

**Brief summary of interview:** Laslett discusses the personalities of the early therapeutic community movement and talks in detail about Barbara Dockar-Drysdale and Stephen Dockar-Drysdale. He discusses the Dockar-Drysdale approach to working with children and Stephen's temperament. He also recalls his memories of Norman Williams (Mulberry Bush Head Teacher), Vera Wills (Mulberry Bush Governor) and Douglas Hamlin. He also tells a brief anacdote with mention of George Pettingale and Swalcliffe Park School. Towards the end of the interview, Laslett talks about Arthur 'Bunny' Baron and Hawkspur Camp as well as the founding of the Planned Environement Therapy Trust by Marjorie Franklin and David Wills.
